I have been working out regularly with Birgitt Haderlein since January 2002. By March 2003 I had lost approximately 40 pounds and almost 30 inches, and since then I have maintained those loses. But more importantly I have increased my strength, flexibility and balance.
Birgitt takes a very thorough and basic approach to working with each client. Her immediate goal was not for me to lose weight or begin lifting a lot of weight. Instead she spent considerable time teaching me fundamental exercises that I could do on my own to increase my core muscle strength, to enhance my flexibility, and to improve my balance. This early work provided the foundation for all the work that was to follow. I learned that having strong abs (and using them) made everything else easier) Birgitt identified my problem areas and analyzed how these weaknesses affected my joints. She devised stretches and exercises that would strengthen particular muscle groups and relieve the pressure on certain joints. Since working with Birgitt, periodic pain in my hip and knee has been greatly reduced. As a result of my work with Birgitt, I am much moe aware of my posture and how I move my body. I have a better understanding of the type of movements that place too much stress on a joint or group of muscles and I more often uses correct movements now. I am now actually able to feel when my body is in correct alignment-this is something that I was unable to do before. I can't praise highly enough Birgitt's knowledge of body mechanics and her gradual, thorough approach to improving her client's well being. She is an understanding and supportive coach who provides realistic goals. I can wholeheartedly recommend the services of Birgitt Haderlien as a personal trainer.
